Yesterday we spent Earth Day and hubby’s birthday somewhere cool and high. We hiked, napped, had picnic, the kids swam, we took photos and just relaxed. We capped off the day with snacks and coffee as we watched the sun set behind the mountains.

Photo posted in Instagram.
It was a lovely day and if we can only stretch it a bit for several more hours, we would do so. I am thankful that there was no mobile signal and I was not tempted to post photos “in the now” and just enjoyed taking photos as we enjoy the moments we shared.
The place was full of people too but we didn’t really see them most of the time because the place is huge. There were those who were on the ziplines, near the pools, in the picnic area or in their rented rooms (like we did a third of the time).
The staff told us during weekends, there are garden weddings happening at the place. It would be nice to take photos of ladies wearing Bari Jay bridesmaid dresses in the gardens though that would mean more people in the premises.
This is my daughter, playing a few tunes in the piano, while waiting for the time to dress up for her prom last week.

This is the piano in my MIL’s home which my husband uses to play. It is in need of repair because some keys don’t play anymore while the others are a bit difficult to use. The piano hinges are also in need of repair.
The children in the family love to play here too. When there are visitors, hubby plays what they would request and there would be lots of singing.
This photo taken during the Evanescence Concert in Manila was taken by the eldest daughter.

I wish I was with her that night but alas, I can’t because I still have two younger children to look after. Besides, we would probably have a hard time going home after the concert because we can’t bring a car with us.
There is nothing like watching or rather listening to a live concert, stomping your feet to the beating drums, listening to yamaha mixers, ear-splitting guitar solo plays and live singing.

Whispers: I need a new camera.
I don’t want my camera to “hear my thoughts” because sometimes these things act out when a replacement is being eyed

I’ve been eye-ing several cameras since I can’t remember when ever since that other camera I’m using got busted and I can’t take decent photos with it. I still have my old and functional P&S camera though and it has never failed me, except when the batteries are low in juice. Since I have been a Canon user as all my cameras are Canon, I have narrowed the list of cameras I think suits what I need. One of those in the list is the Canon EOS Rebel T2i.
Photography seems to be a “craze” these days, because I see a lot of people with big dslr cameras hanging on their necks even if they are not in a photo shoot and just strolling in the malls. Errr… the security personnel usually tell them to stop taking photos when they do.
