Odds and Ends
Public Funds
by julie on Jul.31, 2010, under Odds and Ends
This country is one of the most corrupt countries in the world. Public funds being used for personal gains. Government vehicles being used to pick up school children. Development funds used to buy private homes and not used to build public roads. Tip of the tip of the iceberg really. Sigh.
Something not to be proud of and definitely a LOT of cleaning to be done by the new president.
Hidden among mountains and hills is this super big house of a politician who has been in the office for a looong time but has passed only one bill. One bill and he won again. I didn’t vote for him, not then, and not now.
This home has been featured in the with footage taken from a chopper.
And this guy has a seat in one of the more respected arm in the government that has become his sitting duck once again and resource of unlimited public funds.
June 20: Candle Drip

There is no electricity again so I tried taking photos in the dark to see if the banding in the photos I take are still there. Yes, the white lines are still there and I feel disappointed.
The photos taken using manual setting were much worse like they were post processed. I’m doomed, what I have been fearing for more than a month now has came upon me.
Thing is I don’t have the budget for a new one

Elastic bands for tying the hair.
We buy these in bulk to save more and to have a lot of spares since there are times there “get lost” when removed from the hair.
These elastic bands are resting for now because the younger daughter’s hair has been cut short.

Elections in this country is a very, very big deal and money not only rolls but are distributed like cheap candies to whoever is willing (and this not pertains to a few out there) to get their hands on it. Of course, this exchange of hands is not without a hitch.
Anyway, this photo is not a fiesta though it looks like it is:
Some candidates cleaned up after the electoral process but others did otherwise.
