Rainy Field Trip

Rain could be fun or not, depending on what you are doing and where you are. In this case, the rains came when the 3rd graders on a field trip were walking to where the animals can be seen in a zoo. They did enjoy walking in the drizzle all right but there was this bit of worry that they will get sick.

After the rains, they got to feed fish in a man-made lagoon.

It used to be that rains especially drizzles are something we look forward to especially when we are able to take beautiful photos like this yellow flower and this orange flower both taken from this particular field trip.  I still do look forward to  and welcome drizzles except when it does, MegaManila becomes one big parking lot. Ugh.

Glad my daughter didn’t get sick when it rained during this field trip.

Please take time to listen to a music video of “Kiss the Rain” by Yiruma currently one of my favorites:

Religious Symbols

Filipinos, being the only Catholic nation in SouthEast Asia, are known to be a religious flock.

Seeing religious symbols is common since Catholic homes have their own altars, churches are big and imposing and even public places have these religious symbols on display.

Below is a symbolic religious representation of Jesus Church in a church we recently visited. This church in Bacolor, Pampanga is special because it was half-buried in mud when Mount Pinatubo, a volcano believed to be inactive, erupted twenty years ago.

Same church has recently been under the spotlight as venue/location for a tv series featuring a child who can miraculously cure sick people.

Educational Field Trips

Educational field trips can be fun! Let me rephrase that, field trips usually are not much fun to children unless these are done in fun places.

This photo is a part of my son’s field trip last year where they learned about green living and recycling among others. They are on their way down a hill for some river wading moments.

Going Down the River

My youngest child went to visit the home of the country’s national hero Dr. Jose Rizal. They also went to a farm where she went fishing.

My eldest child meanwhile did nature walk, river wading and rappelling with her classmates.

Educational field trips are fun!!
