The Earth Gives

As a teacher, I encounter different answers from different children. If a child says that some flowers are blue, some trees are red, not all clouds are white and the moon can be seen at day, then that child (or children) can be assumed to be in tuned with what nature has shown and how the environment has influenced him/her in observing the things happening around. It is always a good idea to teach children how to observe and respect nature so that their generation can enjoy the Earth’s lovely places and in moderation, its bounty.

Starfish and it's Yellow underside

Yellow underside of a starfish. It really makes me wonder why sea creatures are so colorful despite the fact that they are mostly underwater. It turns out, according to an article that I read, that communication signals, mating, camouflage, territory and other factors are used for color information and fine spatial information to encode species identity.

And at the rate the ocean degradation is happening, these shallow water colorful sea creatures won’t have much protection from mostly humans who them more harm and damage. So please, put back these starfish and other sea creatures in the water if you are done taking their photos. As much as possible, leave them where they belong: to the sea.

Plants are fascinating. When we look close enough, we will notice intricate details and we know that these are so much complex than just having stems, leaves, flowers and roots. Late post for #fms_macro

Round plants

Early morning light from the sun, here we are the university church where my eldest daughter studies. It is a rare day indeed that we are up and about before sunrise, and on a Sunday at that.

Do you love mornings? I do! I wake up early to prepare the things needed for the day. I love waking up to the sound of chirping birds outside our windows. I like how the early morning rays play through the screen at the back part of the house where we can see the sun rise. Don’t you just love puttering in the house when everyone is still asleep?

Lovely Day

Lovely days are days that are just right: not too hot and humid, not too rainy and not too cloudy that allergies are acting up.

I hope you are having a lovely day today.
