Flower Garden

Once upon a time, I tried to have a flower garden. We had flower plants with blooms and orchids. The orchids were full grown ones given to me as gift by a mom of a student. Talk about free flower delivery :)

Alas, I did not have enough green thumb skills to keep these alive and thriving.

I found my green thumb though, when I discovered I can grow herbs and even “harvested” calamansi last year. This is much better, according to my husband ;)

Jan8: Pink and Being 65

jan8

spent a tiring day with half of it on the road and most of it offline. This was a memorable day and even if the youngest child feels feverish, I am grateful that…

* we were able to spend more time with our dear family friends who have welcomed us in their hearts. We feel the same way with them too.

* the simple and innocent yet logical questions from the children can elicit a lot of laughter

* the trip going back home was tiring but arriving safe and sound is what really matters

* having a brother who, despite his busy sked and being away from his family, stayed in our home last night.

* my children enjoyed the time they spent together with their grandmother (my MIL) and their cousins

pink is sweet and yes, 65 seems to be the age where dancing in glittery heels and short dresses seem to be the norm

guava

I remember the son’s field trip two months ago when I asked several of his classmates to name what this fruit is. I got several answers but the closest thing I got was a calamansi or calamondin.

When I said it is in fact a guava, my son was surprised because he said he knows guavas are big, way bigger than this one. Ack! He is correct in a sense because we buy those big yellow green guavas. The oldest child loves to munch these guava slices. (more…)
