Summer is synonymous to swimming (plus a host of other words like beach, ice cream, vacation and summer camps)
Summer means that snow boots, hot tub covers, winter coats and scarves are back in the closets.

Some tips to remember when you go swimming:
- put on sunblock
- wear goggle to protect your eyes
- use flotation devices if you can’t swim
- do not swim when intoxicated
- have fun without hurting others
Summer is fun. Swimming is fun. Take the best precautions and you will enjoy the rest of your summer.
Yesterday we spent Earth Day and hubby’s birthday somewhere cool and high. We hiked, napped, had picnic, the kids swam, we took photos and just relaxed. We capped off the day with snacks and coffee as we watched the sun set behind the mountains.

Photo posted in Instagram.
It was a lovely day and if we can only stretch it a bit for several more hours, we would do so. I am thankful that there was no mobile signal and I was not tempted to post photos “in the now” and just enjoyed taking photos as we enjoy the moments we shared.
The place was full of people too but we didn’t really see them most of the time because the place is huge. There were those who were on the ziplines, near the pools, in the picnic area or in their rented rooms (like we did a third of the time).
The staff told us during weekends, there are garden weddings happening at the place. It would be nice to take photos of ladies wearing Bari Jay bridesmaid dresses in the gardens though that would mean more people in the premises.
Christmas is one of the most special times that families get together. More often than not, loved ones who are staying overseas only get to celebrate with their families through web cameras, overseas calls, and through the social networking sites. We have celebrated Christmases with a laptop turned on for a BIL to see and talk to us.

The term “Across the Miles” has taken a new twist. People don’t need to wait for the Christmas cards to arrive because we can instantly get in touch with our loved ones. People don’t exactly think of vonage international rates as long as they are able to listen to their loved ones who are away.
How have you communicated with your loved ones who are currently overseas?

My youngest child, busy with her DIY project: ramps for her Tech Deck toys. Unusual for a girl to play with these things but she likes these toys better than dolls and stuffed animals that are kinda boring according to her.

She is sitting on her mat which was brought home from the school. They have after lunch nap time at school Mondays to Thursdays.
The floor was a bit cold during this time and if we had a memory foam topper, I would have given it to her to sit on.
Materials for the ramp: big cereal cardboard box. scissors, lots and lots of tape and tons of patience.
